Partner terms

These are the terms for accommodation and service partners who claim a listing on Walk Via Francigena (walkviafrancigena.com) and choose a paid plan. They are written to be read, not skimmed: everything you pay for, what it costs, how to stop, and what we do with your business details. Where something is not covered here, our Terms of Service, Marketplace Terms and Privacy Policy apply.

1. What you are buying

A claimed listing on the Via Francigena website and app. With an active plan, hikers see your phone number, WhatsApp button, website and booking link, your description, photos and prices; your listing carries a Featured mark and is ordered ahead of unclaimed listings in your stage; you can publish a discount badge; and your dashboard shows how often the listing was seen and which buttons were tapped. Without an active plan your listing stays on the map with its name, type and stage, and its contact details are not shown.

Your listing appears on the Via Francigena platform only. Figures we quote about “the network” describe the audience across all our trail platforms; they are not a promise that your listing appears on the other trails.

2. Price and billing

• There is one plan. Its monthly price follows the kind of place you run — camping and hostels, pensions and guesthouses, or hotels — as decided by your listing’s type. The current prices are on the plan page.
• The price is a monthly amount charged every three months in advance, in EUR (€).
• A launch price applies for the first 180 days from your first payment; from the next charge after that, the standard price applies. We email you before it changes.
• Payments are taken by card through Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• Your plan renews automatically every three months until you cancel.

3. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from Manage Billing on your dashboard, or by emailing hello@walkviafrancigena.com from your account address. Your listing keeps its plan until the end of the period you have paid for; nothing further is charged after that, and your listing then stays on the map without contact details until you choose a plan again.

4. Refunds

If you cancel within 14 days of your first payment, email us and we refund it in full. After that, payments already made are not refunded, but you keep the plan until the end of the paid period. If we remove your listing for a reason that is not a breach of these terms, we refund the unused part of the current period.

5. Invoices and VAT

Prices are shown as charged at checkout. Invoices for every payment are available from Manage Billing on your dashboard. If your business needs an invoice with your VAT number, email hello@walkviafrancigena.com with the number and we will issue one.

6. No commission, no bookings

We take no commission on anything you sell. We do not take bookings or payments on your behalf: a hiker who finds you here contacts you directly, and the stay is a contract between you and the hiker. You own that relationship.

7. Discount badges

A discount offer is a badge on your listing with a percentage, a title and a short code. Anyone can see the badge; a signed-in hiker can reveal the code. The code is the same for everyone who reveals it. You honour the discount at your own desk, and you can pause or remove an offer at any time. We count how many hikers reveal the code; we do not verify redemptions, and we never tell you who revealed it.

8. Your listing and your responsibilities

• Keep your details accurate: a wrong phone number or price costs you the enquiry, not us.
• Only upload photos and text you have the right to use. We may remove content that breaks our Content Policy, is misleading, or targets other businesses.
• Reply to hikers in good faith and honour any offer you publish while it is live.
• Hold the licences and insurance the law requires for your business. We list you; we do not inspect you.

9. What we do and do not do

• We show your listing, order paid listings ahead of unclaimed ones in your stage, and count how it performs.
• We may correct a listing’s map position or type, and we may suspend a listing that receives credible complaints, until they are resolved with you.
• We do not guarantee a number of enquiries or bookings. Our audience figures are counts from our own records, rounded, and dated.
• If the platform is unavailable for more than three consecutive days through our fault, we extend your paid period by the same time.

10. Your data

Your listing (name, address, contact details, photos, prices, description) is public by design once your plan is active. Your account email and password are used only to sign you in and to send you service messages: confirmations, your monthly numbers, a notice before your price changes, and anything that affects your plan. Analytics you see are counts and aggregates; we never show you who an individual hiker is. The Privacy Policy explains the rest, including how to delete your account.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change affects what you pay or what you get, we email you at least 30 days before it applies; if you do not agree, you can cancel before it takes effect and we refund the unused part of your period.
